Children Challenging Industry

Children Challenging Industry

Children Challenging Industry (CCI) scheme is managed by the Chemical Industry Education Centre in York (for 9-11 year olds) and supported in the northwest by Chemicals Northwest.

Science-based manufacturing companies can nominate a primary school and liaise with an advisory teacher to deliver industry-related science lessons in the school. Pupils also participate in a tour of the chemical site.  Many Halton-based chemical businesses have been involved with CCI; including Ineos Fluor in Runcorn and Shepherd Widnes. Schools can also apply directly to the regional advisor (Sue Andrews) to participate in the project.
