
Halton People Into Jobs
Halton People Into Jobs (HPIJ) is a Halton Borough Council employment service promoting local jobs for local people through a unique partnership with local employers; the Halton Employment Charter. So far, 1145 local employers have signed-up to the Charter, and over 2000 people have been helped into employment.
The Halton People into Jobs Team provide a comprehensive range of services to complement the Employment Charter, including:
- Jobs-brokering service, providing advice, guidance and practical support in how to apply for local jobs including help with preparing a CV, completing application forms, interview preparation and interview skills training.
- Jobs-matching service matching clients to vacant jobs
- Access to a diverse skill base from 'entry level' to 'management', in all occupational sectors.
- Post-interview feedback and advice and a 26-week employment aftercare programme to help new employees to keep their job.
- Enterprise Broker to provide advice, guidance and support on business start-up/self employment.
- Recruitment Support - for large scale recruitment HPiJ is able to take over the time consuming aspects of sending out application forms, sifting, arranging interview/assessment days, scheduling interviews, collating feedback, updating clients and offering support to the employer and clients at each stage of the process.
- Redundancy Service - HPiJ can provide an employment advice and guidance service for employers that are making workers redundant. HPiJ have helped over 90 residents faced with redundancy to find alternate work since January 2005.
- Virtual Business Forum - a web based employer network enables local business to communicate with HPiJ and each other.
- Disability Job Broker Service providing specialist advice, guidance and practical support on a range of employment related matters
