Formed in 1999, Fresenius Kabi Ltd. is Europe’s leading company in clinical nutrition and infusion therapy. They develop and manufacture products such as intravenous (IV) drips, medical pumps, drip feeds, IV drugs and anaesthetics for the critically ill.
In July 2007, Fresenius Kabi relocated to Manor Park, Runcorn, bringing together two sites already in Runcorn and a distribution facility in Birchwood. The site at Manor Park is a combined UK headquarters and aseptic manufacturing and dispensing facility (ASU), and currently employs over 260 people on site.
Facilities at Manor Park site include a large distribution warehouse, and facilities for testing and servicing of medical pumps, alongside the aseptic manufacturing unit. This unit is the largest of its kind in the UK, and allows the compounding of IV solutions in sterile conditions, with all solutions being individually tailored to each patient’s needs. All products are then subjected to quality assurance checks prior to being shipped out.
Investment from the NWDA (Selective Finance for Investment) helped Fresenius Kabi Ltd. with relocation expenses for the new premises in Manor Park, enabling the continued investment by the company in the Halton area. Reasons for remaining in Halton include excellent accessibility, high quality local employment and economically priced properties.
